THERE'S a new pup on the slopes at the snow this season but she won't be taking the chair lift up the mountain.

Three-month-old Freya will join a team of 18 Siberian Huskies which operate the Australian Sleddog Tours from Mount Hotham and Dinner Plain.

Already, the pup has stolen the show at the snowfields and become the star attraction for the alpine tour operators.

Operator Brett Madden said although Freya wasn't ``mushing'' yet she was already the star attraction at Mount Hotham and Dinner Plain.

But Mr Madden said it wouldn't be long until the young pup was pulling a sled.

"Most of our beautiful husky dogs are from rescue shelters, something we're very proud of,' he said.

"We're introducing Freya slowly to the pack, who are all very curious about their new family member, but she won't mush until she is at least 10 to 12 months old.

"Guests will still get to enjoy Freya though with a pat and a cuddle when they visit us to mush with our other much loved 18 huskies."
